  1. Hi, thanks for the program. But I made a small mistake on the SoX path. I entered a wav file name, instead of the link to the SoX executable. Now I can’t use the Choose button to correct it. I have unstalled the program and then installed it again but without any luck. Can you enable the button so that if people have made a mistake on the SoX path they can correct it (will also help if a new version of SoX comes out). Also a help option next to the SoX path would have been quite usefull, then I would not have made the mistake in the first place.

    Many thanks

    • Sanjay,

Are you using the 1.1 beta 2 version? One of the bugs that was fixed in this version was a problem with this. I installed a copy on a machine that has never had it and selected a .wav file as you did and had no problem changing the selection. If you are running the b2 version I will have to try and sort out what may be wrong but so far I am unable to reproduce this. I very much appreciate you reporting a problem and adding a help button for the SoX path is on the todo list.

  2. Hi Mike,

Yes I am using 1.1 beta 2. if you send me an e-mail, I can e-mail you the screen shot of the problem I’m having. I just can’t seem to remove the Link to the Wav file from the SoX path. It just appers that the choose button has no effect – i.e it’s not working.
So i’m stuck – I cant use the software because it reaches 1/2 way and then due to having a wav file name in the SoX path – it just stops. It would also help that when you unstall it it should remove all references (from Registery ?) . Because when you unstall it and then reinstall the wav file name path is still there.

Many thanks for taking the time to help.

    • Sanjay,

The new version will clear the settings if you choose cancel when browsing for the SoX executable. If you want to remove the saved settings manually you can delete the “fwl” directory from the c:\users\\Appsettings\Local directory. The program does not use the registry for storing user settings.

      • Mike,

I install the new version – but the choose button for SoX path has no effect – i.e no popup windown appears – This was the issue I was having. But using the manual metod you have indicated has solved my problem. After deleting the fwl directory, the SoX path was cleared and the SoX button started to work. I have now correctly applied the link to the SoX excuteable and it all works. Many thanks for your help and the programs in the first place. Happy New Year.

      • Mike,

Futher to my last post. It’s all working – i.e using the manual method to correct the SoX by deleting the fwl dir. But I belive there is still a small bug – basically once the SoX path has been set, the Sox Choose button becomes disabled – i.e it has no effect – no popup windows appears when you click it.
Its not that I am going to change this often or at all but I thought I’d let you know that for some reason on my PC ( Win 7 – home premium). Once the SoX path is set – the SoX Coose Button has no effect – Very starange because the other two Choose buttons still work and pop up windows appear.

        • I cannot reproduce this. I use this every day and the choose button works whether the SoX path is set or not. The behavior after clicking choose is the program tries to find SoX in the default path, if found it will ask if you want to use that, if you chose yes it closes and no option to select is presented, if no is chosen then a file open dialog is presented and one can navigate to the SoX executable. If cancel is clicked on the file open dialog, the SoX path is cleared and the options are disabled.
